Description1. Letter to J. Mason, 3 Apr 1857
Encloses copy of memorandum and says that he has told Dr. Miller that Mason will welcome suggestions "for the promotion of the interest of the Institution" which he is "so anxious to see wisely and firmly and speedily established".

2. Letter to Rev. J.C. Miller, St Martin's rectory, Birmingham, 2 Apr 1857
This letter sets out Mason's intention regarding endowment of orphanage and almshouses, numbers and denomination of trustees and committee of management, appointment of clergyman to serve as chaplin, and the form of the children's religious instruction.

3. Letter to Rev J.C.Miller, 20 Beaufort Street, Chelsea, London, 9 May 1857
Sets out Mason's objection to the teaching of the Catechism and asks him, on Mason's behalf, to consider Mason's views.

4.Letter to Josiah Mason, undated [? 11 May 1857]
Encloses correspondence from his daughter and Miss Pratt.
