| Description | This volume is a ledger that appears to have served a number of uses: Between 1844 and 1860 the volume has been used like a cash book with receipts on the left hand pages and payments on the right. After this, there appears a 'schedule of freehold and leasehold properties and other assets' (31 December 1883). Balance sheets follow this recording credit/debit as per cash books, etc. (31 December 1903 - 31 March 1925). Later on in the volume, the balance sheets are intermingled with ledger pages, i.e. transactions with certain funds or businesses. Ledgers including, for example: 'war bonds', 'consols', 'organ fund', accounts with different banks, etc. |
