| Description | This subseries contains newsletters, leaflets, pamphlets, posters, correspondence and some other items in the official capacity of certain organisations. This subseries is divided into 3 sections:
/1 'Community Groups', which contains material documenting some of the activities and initiatives of a variety of groups generally set up by members of the community to serve and support the needs and interests of their surrounding community in a variety of capacities;
/2 'Ex-Patriot Community', contains promotional material for events, newsletters, information and various correspondence documenting some of the activities of ex-patriot / immigrant community groups, mainly West Indians and Africans living in Britain, the events mainly centre around cultural themes.
/3 'Community Newsletters', containing the local newsletters produced at a community level to communicate community relevant information and news.
Although the period covered by this section is from 1981 - 2003, and there is certainly a selection of items dated in the early 1980's, the concentration of material is dated certainly from the early 1990's up until 2003. |
