/4 Other: Companies and Performances: this series is a collection of promotional material from the performances and marketing of various black dance companies, mainly in Birmingham, but also including material of those outside of Birmingham, some internationally, such as the National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica.
In the case of Kokuma (/1), there is a considerable amount of organisational documents related to the official running of the company, but for the rest of the dance companies, including Adzido, Lanzel and many others, the material is basically promotional leaflets, flyers, posters, programmes, and marketing information packs. This gives some idea of the performance activities of the companies and the cultural landscape of Birmingham in relation black dance and performing arts. |
