| Description | Printed in bromide 1906. Photographed by W.A. Clark, Trafalgar Road, Moseley. Old workshop facing covered market, demolished in 1903 for the erection of modern fruit warehouses, Moat Lane, Birmingham. A note by Percy Deakin, Honorary Survey Curator of the Warwickshire Photographic Survey, written on the back of the photograph states that during the excavation of the site, in the reddish sandy clay was a layer, several feet in thickness, of black hardened mud in which were embedded numerous skulls and bones of cattle and large dogs, and also the portion of an antler showing knife marks. |
