Focus of lens Ross Wide Angle 7.5 inches in focus. 14 seconds stop 32, lens focus 7.5 inches. A note on the back of the photographs reads: 'Erected by Basil, Earl of Denbigh and other gentlemen in 1712 at the crossing of the Old Fosse and Watling Street. The cross was struck by lightening in 1791 and little more than the base now stands in Mr [Torns] garden'. The photographer wrote the inscriptions on the south and east side of the monument [in Latin] on the back of the photograph (see digital image WK/W13/18B). |
