| Description | Photographer unknown. Map reference: OS 6" 72 NE. The old office of Boulton and Watt close by the original gates of the Soho Foundry. A note on the back of the photograph reads: 'The greater part of the offices had to be pulled down about ten years ago, but the bay window front and its surrounding structure were carefully preserved. This was destroyed by enemy action in December 1940. Only the clock (1802) has been preserved. I rescured it after the disaster. (Sgd [Signed].) W.A. Benton. |
