| Description | The majority of the prints that form the Warwickshire Photographic Survey Post-War Series were fixed to cheaper brown card mounts with information about author, title, date etc logged on the back by the photographer.
Each batch of prints has been arranged into Series chronologically in accordance with their year of deposit (logged in the Register of Photographs in MS 2724/1/2/6 with the date duplicated on the backs of the prints) running MS 2724/3/1 onwards with the individual prints in each Series catalogued to item level from 1 onwards (i.e. MS 2724/3/1 onwards, MS 2724/100/1 onwards etc). More information on the background and custodial history of the WPS Post-War Series is available in the Administrative History, Custodial History, Description for WPS Collection record MS 2724.
A number of items that appear to form part of MS 2724/3 were identified on the back of their mounting boards as being retrieved from salvage; these do not appear in the accession register. The prints have now been listed as part of Series MS 2724/3/Z. There are also items that look to be part of Series MS 2724/3 do not have a date of deposit on the back that can be cross-checked with the accession records. A number of others were given an incorrect date of deposit or were created by an individual or organisation that does not appear in the accession registers. Most were created by individuals or organisations whose work appears elsewhere in Sub Collection MS 2724/3 These prints have been temporarily arranged as part of Series MS 2724/3/ZZ below until more information becomes available. |
