| AdminHistory | Matthew Robinson Boulton’s mint and rolling mill supplied Soho Foundry with copper, and occasionally other items such as steel and timber. These two bundles contain the accounts sent by the Mint to the Foundry for these items. The bills were sent quarterly, at Lady Day, Midsummer, Michaelmas and Christmas. They were examined by the Head Clerk in the Counting House at Soho Foundry. Between Midsummer 1824 and Michaelmas 1832 the accounts are marked as having been entered in the Boulton Watt & Co. Foundry Journals (Nos. 1/31—1/32) by the Chief Cashier & Bookkeeper in the engine firm’s counting house at Soho Manufactory. The accounts were returned to the Foundry. |
