DescriptionThe docket is on a separate wrapper. Docketed “To inform Peter Ewart that 2 60 horse belted cylinders are in hand & 60 horse boiler for Herne Bay. Both may be ready in 2 months. Enclosing Danube etc. An interesting paper in the United Service Journal. A gent. states Fairbairn is setting up a regular manufactory for iron boats. Dangerfield writes of large engines – making at Liverpool, opinion on the speculation. Berenice’s boilers cannot be thicker than iron. Have written the Admiralty with estimate of some boring machines for Devonport.”
