Halbeath’s injection very hot – want estimate of new air pump and rod. Thompson to go to Haig’s in a few days. Omoa and Calder working tolerably. Houstoun not quite finished. Gibbs will pay in a few days. Observations on Houldsworth’s drawings. Size of cold water pump to be altered. Drawing to be returned. Hussey & Co. will have 5 foot and 2 foot connecting wheels. Present occupation of Thompson. To be sent to Haig’s and Geddes, to put in cold water pump at Mr. Houstoun’s and then erect Mr. Miller’s 6 horse. Enquires about articles ordered for Messrs. Stirling’s. Thinks he can leave Glasgow and return home.”
