| Description | Letters from James Watt to James Watt Jr. from 1796. Watt Jr. docketed the letters with Watt’s name and the date of the letter, and the letters were later summarized by Gregory Watt. Some of the letters to Watt Jr. while he was in Cornwall were however summarised by Watt Jr. himself. These letters were kept separately from the ones Watt wrote to Matthew Robinson Boulton in the same year (see 3/26).
Henry Hazleton summarised most of the letters again in the 1890s, but his summaries have been transcribed only where they expand on the docket. |
