| Description | Letters from Jabez Carter Hornblower from 1778 and 1779. Hornblower briefly worked for Boulton & Watt on various engines, but was dismissed because of his bad attitude and poor relations with Boulton & Watt’s customers. He went on to make engines that Boulton & Watt considering as infringing Watt’s patent, leading to lengthy legal action [see 2/41-2/48].
