| Description | Letters from John Rennie from 1810 and 1811. John Rennie worked as a millwright and engineer in London, and he acted as a London agent for Boulton Watt & Co. Rennie frequently wrote while travelling round the country – this bundle contains letters from Boston, Bangor Ferry, Driffield, Birmingham, Deal and Doncaster. The bundle also contains letters from Rennie’s foreman John Walker, and one from Rennie’s son George.
The letters are addressed Boulton Watt & Co. and James Watt Jr. Two of John Walker’s letters are addressed to William Murdock.
The letters are dated as follows: Nos. 1-41. 1810 Nos. 42-75. 1811 |
