The majority of the papers in this bundle are drawings and sketches illustrating the premises of various gas lighting customers. These sketches usually show the position of pipes, burners, retorts etc. There are also memoranda and letters about the installation of lighting apparatus for various customers. Not all the customers represented in this bundle actually installed lighting apparatus – some of the sketches and notes were in reply to enquiries that never went beyond estimates.
