14 horse power independent crank engine, with 22 inch cylinder, 3 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod.

For John Ramsbottom. Brewery, Windsor. Engine Order Book No. 9 notes that this was the first engine of this type made with improved slide valves. The firm was formerly known as Ramsbottom & Baverstock, and this engine replaced the 4 horse crank engine which they bought in 1796 [see Portfolio 5/258].
