50 horse power side lever boat engine for land, with [39½ inch cylinder], 3½ foot stroke.

For The New River Co. Pumping engine, Tottenham Court Road, London. According to a note on one of the drawings this engine was for supplying water to Hampstead. This engine was erected near the 20 horse independent engine erected on this site in 1835 [see Portfolio 5/1087]. In 1850-1851 a 66 inch inverted engine was moved to this site from Broken Wharf [see Portfolio 5/1092].
