Two inverted engines, with 39 inch cylinders, 6 foot strokes.
Also proposed engines for Cotham Reservoir, air vessel for engines at Victoria Reservoir.

Pumps, valves, suction pipes, air vessels and stand pipes, pump rods etc., views and plan of the nozzles, air pumps, eduction pipes, condenser cistern, hot water pumps etc. - partially coloured original drawings; steam pipes, feed pipes, safety and waste steam pipes, grates and fire apparatus, dampers etc. - partially coloured original and partially coloured reverse drawings; beams and columns, condensers and eduction pipes etc. - partially coloured original drawing; beam to work the air pump and hot and cold water pumps, parallel motion etc. for working the air pump and hot and cold water pumps - partially shaded original drawings; air vessel, cold water pumps and stand pipes, waste water pipes, pump to replenish the air vessel with air - partially coloured reverse drawings; plan and elevations of 18 inch plunger pumps - coloured original and coloured reverse drawings; waste water pipes etc., air machine and gearing, catch pins etc., air machine and gearing marked "As executed", pump to replenish the air vessel with air - partially coloured original and reverse drawings. All these drawings bear letter codes.
Also the following rough sketches, uncoded drawings etc.: Full size drawing of working gear handles; sketch of piston rod; sketch of pump rods; sketch of pipes and cocks for small air pumps - sketch and press copy; tappet rod cross-bar and injection rod brackets; plates for underside of girders for catch pins; radius block and plummer block for the end of the air pump beam; air vessel [?] and pipe.

Set of drawings for Cotham Reservoir, Jun. 1847: W.D. No. 1 - general plan of the engine house and part of the reservoir; W.D. No. 2 - sections of the engine and boiler houses and well; W.D. No. 3 - external elevations of the engine and boiler houses; W.D. No. 4 - sections of the engine and boiler houses; no number - sections and plan of pumps; W.D. No. 2 - sections of the engine house (altered version sent by Simpson & Lynde, Jul. 1847). Partially coloured drawings, all marked "Bristol Water Works", and all the numbered drawings are also marked "Contract No. 19".
