Single-acting engine, with 54 inch cylinder, 8 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam.

Reverse plan of the engine and boiler houses (in 2 parts), plan of the pump wells, longitudinal section of the engine house and boiler (in 2 parts), longitudinal and cross-sections of the pump well, cross-section of the engine house, cross-section of the boiler house, external elevation and plan of the engine house; air vessel - partially shaded reverse drawing; bang bracket for the plug to work through - reverse drawing; working barrel, clack pieces etc. - partially shaded original and reverse drawings; sections and plans of clack and clack door, section of jackhead - partially coloured reverse drawing. All these drawings bear letter codes.
Also sketches of spring and entablature beams, columns, steam pipes, working barrel, suction pipe - 4 sheets sent to the Foundry; sketch of feed pipes; sketch of clack pattern; memorandum - "Addition data from Mr. Rennie to those given in his letter of 22 May 1810" (notes on resistance in pipes, boilers etc., in James Watt Jr.'s hand, 4 Jun. 1810); book "Levels taken from the Grand Junction from top water in the Basin at Paddington to the various Streets in London" (56 page booklet filled in with tables giving names of streets, heights etc., Jun. 1810); coloured plan by John Rennie showing the basin, roads etc., Jul. 1810; sketch plans for the engine house, Aug. 1810 - 4 plans and 1 section, with press copies.

For the Grand Junction Water Works. Pumping engine, Paddington, London. The engine house was built for two engines, but only one was erected in 1810-1811. Letters concerning the engine were to be addressed to Richard Hill, 9 Serle Street, Lincolns Inn Fields, London.
