Two 40 horse power side lever boat engines, with 35½ inch cylinders, 3½ foot strokes. Boat re-named Advice 1837. 2 sections of the boat, one marked "as Sections from Mr. Laing, 9 May 1822"; plan of the engine sleepers, section of the boat and engines, section of the boat "at frame 11", longitudinal section of engine room, plan of deck beams - reverse drawings made in the London office [?]; paddle wheel and shaft - shaded original and reverse drawings; upper headstock frame; plan and section of boiler - reverse drawing (also used for Crocodile and spare boiler for Escape); eccentric circle and rod, plan and section of boiler, front view and top plan of boiler, longitudinal section of boiler - coloured original and reverse drawings; side view of engine and section of boiler, plan of the engines and boiler - coloured reverse drawing; sketch of paddle shaft and wheel, sketch of uptake of boiler. The boat, built at the Deptford Naval Yard, was initially referred to as "Holyhead No. 3" before being named Vixen. She was operating from the Milford station by Mar. 1832. She was re-named Advice in 1837 when the Navy took over the Post Office packet fleet.
