Two 50 horse power side lever boat engines, with 39½ inch cylinders, 3½ foot strokes. Boat re-named Gleaner, power increased to 65 horses 1837. Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 869. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 318. For H. M. Post Office, Holyhead station. Gulnare was built at Chatham Dockyard. The boat was re-named Gleaner in 1837 when the Navy took over the Post Office packet fleet. She was later deployed as a tender at the North America and West Indies station at Bermuda, and scrapped in 1850. Her engines were transferred to the Monkey, formerly the Royal Sovereign.
