For the Margate Steam Packet Co. The boat ran between London and Herne Bay. The boat is mentioned in T. Tredgold, The Steam Engine, p. 474. The Catalogue of Old Engines says that the boat was owned by the Herne Bay Co., but Engine Order Book No. 12 and Boat Engine Book No. 4 make it clear that the Fame was operated by the Margate Steam Packet Co.
