1175. Danube Steamer No. 9, Clemens Metternich (ON & OO). Apr. 1828, Nov. 1832, May-Jul., Oct. 1836, Aug. 1839, Jun. 1845. 16 items.
Two 70 horse power side lever boat engines, with 45½ inch cylinders, 4 foot strokes, 60 horse engine framing. Boat later re-named Persia.
Cross-section of the boat and engines, plan of the deck beams, longitudinal section of the engine room and boiler, plan of the engines and boiler and sleepers - reverse drawings made in the London office; section and plan of the boiler - reverse drawing made in the London office Apr. 1828 and re-used for the Clemens Metternich; cylinders - coloured original and coloured reverse drawings made in Nov. 1832 and re-used for the Clemens Metternich (the original has a sketch of alterations made to the cylinders attached); headstocks, steam, feed, waste water and emptying pipes and cocks - original and reverse drawings; coal boxes - reverse drawing made in the London office; memorandum of the weight of the engines.
Also the following later items: longitudinal section of the boiler - partially coloured reverse drawing, Aug. 1839; middle shaft and cranks - original, direct copy and reverse drawings, Jun. 1845. All the drawings except the first ones made in the London office bear letter codes.
