For Samuel Fish and John Yates. Tobacco and snuff manufactory, St. John St., St. Sepulchre, London. The engine was initially referred to as "FYX". On 7 Aug. 1798 John Rennie wrote to Boulton & Watt saying that Fish & Yates were proposing to order a 20 horse engine, and requesting sketches of the engine house that he could send to them. Sketches were sent to Rennie in Carlisle, but the enquiry appears to have gone no further.
