Description8 horse power double-acting sun & planet engine, with 16 inch cylinder, 4 foot stroke, parallel motion.

Original coloured and reverse general view of the engine (the reverse copy is on the same sheet as the ground plan and is marked "These drawings made for a 6 horse), coloured original and reverse plans and sections of the engine and boiler (the reverse copies have an alternative or later boiler design pasted on); framing and cistern - reverse drawings; reverse plan and sections of the engine house showing framing; parallel motion - coloured original drawing; working gear - coloured original front and side view. All the drawings bear letter codes.

For Charles Lees & Co. The engine agreement was signed by Samuel Lees, Matthew Priestnall and John Oldham, "plummers and glaziers" of Stockport. Cotton mill, Stockport. This engine appears to have been omitted from the Catalogue of Old Engines.
