Two 20 horse power side lever boat engines, with 26¾ inch cylinders, 2½ foot strokes. Midship section of the boat, plan of the engines and boiler, side view of the engine room (3 drawings on 1 sheet); paddle wheel and shaft - shaded original and shaded reverse drawings; feed and emptying pipes for boiler - reverse drawing; rough sketch of paddle wheel and shaft sent to the Foundry. Also the following later items: section and plan of boiler - original and reverse drawings, Aug. 1827 (the reverse drawing was also used for the Kiel). The Kiel was almost certainly the boat built by Thomas Brocklebank formerly known as Eagle [see Portfolio 5/1263]. |
