Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 973. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 322.

For H. M. Navy. Eurotas and Horatio were screw-propeller driven 44 gun frigates. Engine Order Book No. 13 describes each engine as consisting of a pair of 43½ inch cylinders, and each boat having two engines. However the drawings refer to each boat having four 87½ horse engines. The engines were never installed in Eurotas and Horatio; engines IV and IW were transferred to the Simoom in May 1848, while engines IX and IY were transferred to the 90 gun frigate Sans Pareil in Jul. 1850, but they were removed in 1855 and replaced with 200 horse engines. The Catalogue of Old Engines erroneously says that Eurotas and Horatio were re-named. Henry Hazleton allocated separate portfolio numbers to both boats, despite the fact that they did not have separate drawings; Eurotas was Pf. 1231, and Horatio was Pf. 1232.
