Cylinders formerly used in Hawk. Cross-section of the boat and engines, longitudinal section of the engine room and boiler and plan of the deck beams, plan and section of the engine sleepers, side view of gangway wale and paddle casing - reverse drawings made in the London office; sections and plan of the boiler - partially coloured original and reverse drawings made in the London office (the drawings were also used for the boiler for the Sicilian boat La Rondini). The engines included the old cylinders from the Gravesend boat Hawk [see Portfolio 5/1271] which had been returned to Soho. All the other parts were new. The engines were coded as QIL (QI Larboard) and QIS (QI Starboard). |
