Single-acting engine, with 23 inch cylinder, 2 foot stroke, direct connection.

Nov. 1793 drawings:
Section of the engine and pump, front view of the engine, plan of the pump - coloured original and reverse drawings (these drawings each have a longitudinal section of the boiler stuck onto them and show the cylinder as 24 inches); condenser - reverse drawing (this drawing was also used for the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal boat engine [Portfolio 5/1276a]); plan of the engine and boiler and pump - coloured original and reverse drawings. All the drawings bear letter codes.

Mar.-Jun. 1794 drawings:
Pump - shaded drawing marked "not executed"; pump working barrel, working barrel and "cup" - reverse drawings; general section and plan of the engine and boiler and pump, front view of the engine, cross-section of the boiler - reverse drawings (4 drawings on 2 sheets, with second neater set made in Jun.). All the drawings except the shaded pump drawing and that of the pump "cup" bear letter codes.

For the Birmingham Canal Co. Pumping engine mounted in a boat, and referred to as a "boat engine". The engine was sold to the Grand Junction Canal Co. in 1796.
