Description20 horse power double-acting sun & planet engine, with 23¾ inch cylinder, 5 foot stroke, parallel motion. Power increased to 26 horses with a 26¼ inch cylinder added 1802.

Coloured original and reverse plans and sections of the engine and boilers (note that the general view of the engine is wanting, and the copy of the ground plan is marked "Copied Dec. 1818 from direct one sent by them, former copy being lost long ago); direct copy of plan of the engine house and boilers; reverse sections of the engine and boiler houses showing framing and chimney. All the drawings bear letter codes.
Also sheet of drawings of new cistern , steam pipes and stop valves ordered Dec. 1818 (not coded).

For William Parkes and company. Cotton and worsted mill, Warwick. The firm was Parkes & Brookhouse when the engine was ordered, but by 1797 had become Parkes Brookhouse & Crompton. It later became John Parkes & Co.
