The drawings of the cylinder for Clark Salmon & Co. of Bath appear to have been for a replacement for an existing engine. Similarly the drawings for Rohde & Co., sugar manufacturers of London also appear to have been replacement parts for an existing engine. The drawings depict an engine with a crosshead at the top of the piston rod, suggesting that this was not a beam engine but possibly a bell crank engine. |
