Reverse general view of the engine, plans and sections of the engine and boiler (6 drawings on 1 sheet); reverse plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses and framing, with cistern drawings on the same sheet. All the drawings bear letter codes.

For John Gatley. Cotton mill, Market St. Lane, Manchester. Gatley originally ordered a 10 horse power engine, and Southern duly entered the details of this in his List of Books. Gatley changed his order to a 12 horse engine in Sep. 1798.
