Description8 horse power double-acting sun & planet engine, with 16 inch cylinder, 4 foot stroke, parallel motion.

For John Watson and company. Cotton mill, Preston. In 1796-1797 the firm was Watsons Myers & Russell. They also operated an engine erected by Bateman & Sherratt, for which they bought an air pump from Boulton & Watt. They began to make enquiries for this engine in Dec. 1798.
