Description32 horse power double-acting sun & planet engine, with 29 inch cylinder, 6 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron connecting rod.

For Stephen Shallcross of Ayton St., Manchester. Cotton mill, Portland St., Manchester. Shallcross originally ordered a 30 horse engine, but later changed it to one for a 32 horse. According to the List of Engines made at Soho, the engine was damaged by fire in 1802, but re-erected "with modern improvements" by J. Olivant & Co. in 1805. In Mar. 1813 it passed to T. Steele.
