Parallel motion - reverse drawing. This drawing was used as a standard drawing for parallel motions for 16 and 20 horse engines. It was used as the basis for the parallel motion drawings for the following engines, each drawing being given a new code: GQO Sheriff Hill Oct. 1801, GPK Marriotts & Robinson Oct. 1801, HBO Easterby Hall & Co. 20 horse Jul. 1802, HVV Henry Coates & Co. 20 horse May 1803.

For Sheriff Hill Colliery, Sheriff Hill, near Gateshead. Winding engine. This was the second engine erected at Sheriff Hill, the first being a crank engine in 1795 [see Portfolio 5/249]. Note that the Drawings Office Index calls the colliery "Sherry Hill". |
