Description14 horse power double-acting sun & planet engine, with 20 inch cylinder, 5 foot stroke, parallel motion.

Includes reverse general view of the engine, reverse plans and sections of the engine, boiler, foundations and seating, showing some details of the engine house; framing - original and coloured reverse; parallel motion marked "from Stein"; working gear - coloured reverse plans and front and side view; nozzles, marked "New drawn 26 Jan. 1792 which see 13.16" and "13.16 see drawing AMN"; grate bars, bearers, fireplace, cistern, pinion and bevel wheels; plan of the walls of the engine house; sketch of the condenser top marked "See Silas Dean"; note about the order in John Southern's hand.

For John Peel, Thomas Ainsworth and company of Warrington. Cotton mill, Warrington. The engine was damaged in a fire in 1791, and sold to S. J. & B. Churchill of Sheepshead.
