For the proprietors of Hawkesbury Colliery, Bedworth, near Coventry, Warwickshire. Winding engine. The proprietor with whom Boulton & Watt usually dealt was Francis Parrott. This was the third engine for Hawkesbury Colliery. The first was a pumping engine with a 58 inch cylinder, in 1777 and the second was the small 3 horse power engine above. Note that this engine was often referred to as the "Bedworth New Engine".
