For Thomas Allingham, Rotherhithe. Forge engine, Union Foundry, Rotherhithe [?]. Drawings prepared for an engine planned for Thomas Allingham's original premises, the Union Foundry. Dickinson & Jenkins say that in 1785 "forge engines were being put up in the London area, one at the Union Ironworks, and another at the King and Queen Ironworks, both in Rotherhithe." [p. 249]. However, the engine intended for the Union Ironworks, presumably this one, actually evolved into the one erected at the King & Queen Foundry. In Mar. 1785 Allingham moved to the King & Queen Foundry, and the engine was increased and altered to a 26 inch cylinder. In its altered form it was operated by Folliot Scott & Co.
