For John Sparrow & Co., the proprietors of Cockshead Colliery, Norton-in-the-Moors, Staffordshire. Winding engine. This was the second engine for Cockshead Colliery, the first being a pumping engine with a 48½ inch cylinder in 1792 [see Portfolio 5/566].
