12 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 19? inch cylinder, 4 foot stroke, parallel motion.

Coloured original and reverse general view of the engine and boiler, coloured original and reverse plans and sections of the engine and boiler; reverse plans and sections of the engine and boiler houses, framing and cistern; fly wheel (marked "2nd edition 1806, the old one destroyed" and "new edition the old one being bedevilled"), condenser, plummer blocks and gudgeons, boiler steam pipe socket, cold water pump working barrel, beam straps, crank and connecting rod - all reverse; working gear - coloured original front and side views; parallel motion - coloured original drawing; small plan of the fly wheel and location of cold water pump; ground plan of the engine and boiler and part of the premises (sent by Hawks & Co.?); detailed ground plan of the premises by Mr. Burnet, millwright, showing location of engine, rolling mill, boring mill, turnery, grinding mill etc.; elevation of the works and part of the framing [?]. All the drawings except the last 4 items bear letter codes.

For William Hawks, Thomas Longridge, George Hawks and William Train of Gateshead. Iron and steel works, New Greenwich, near Gateshead. According to the Catalogue of Old Engines, the engine was later sold to a Mr. Millbank.
