258. Ramsbottom & Baverstock, Windsor. Aug. 1796, Jul., Aug. 1797. 7 items. 4 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 12? inch cylinder, 3 foot stroke, parallel motion.
Coloured original and reverse general view of the engine, reverse plan, front view and edge views of the engine and round boiler (4 drawings on 1 sheet); working gear - coloured original front and side view; coloured original and reverse cross-section of the boiler; plan of the premises showing horse wheel, tun, copper, stables and yards etc. dated 11 Aug. 1796; small press copy plan of engine, boiler, horse wheel and mash tun dated 24 Jul. 1797. All the drawings except the last 2 items bear letter codes.

For John and Richard Ramsbottom and James Baverstock. Brewery, Windsor. The firm was also referred to as Ramsbottom & Co. The firm replaced this engine with a 14 horse independent engine in 1830 [see Portfolio 5/1023].
