20 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 23¾ inch cylinder, 5 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod.

Coloured original and reverse general view of the engine, plan of the engine and boiler, longitudinal section of the boiler and feeder apparatus; reverse plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses, showing connection to millwork, water course etc.; parallel motion - coloured original drawing; rough sketch plan marked "sketch for Messrs. Stirlings' engine & dash wheels etc.", showing engine house, millwork etc. All the drawings except the last item bear letter codes.

For William Stirling & Sons. Bleaching and printing works, Cordale, Dumbarton. The List of Engines made at Soho says that this engine was actually at Dalquhurn. The firm was frequently spelt as "Sterling".
