For Charles Bennett, Manchester. Bennett ordered a 32 horse power engine, as Book 486 was opened for him, and a letter in the Business Letter Book Sep. 1803-Aug. 1804 mentions the engine being nearly ready. However the engine does not appear in the Engine Order Books, the List of Engines made at Soho or the Catalogue of Old Engines, and no drawings except those of the engine house are recorded in the Drawings Day Book. |
