Includes reverse general view of the engine, sections and plans of the engine, boiler and engine house showing connection to the mill, part of the mill, external elevations of the engine and boiler houses; boiler - coloured original and reverse plans and sections; parallel motion - coloured original and reverse copy marked "From John James"; working gear - coloured original plans and front and side views, coloured reverse copies, direct copy of front and side views.

For Henry Pearson and John Grimshaw of Nottingham. Cotton mill, Nottingham. The engine was purchased in Jun. 1796 by Robert Runcorn & Co. for a cotton mill in Manchester, and the original agreement was re-used. According to the Catalogue of Old Engines Runcorn & Co. wished to increase it to a 10 horse power engine.
