For Sir John Hope, Bart. Colliery winding engine, Inveresk, near Edinburgh. The engine was ordered by Hope's agent, John Grieve. This engine was moved to Midfield in Jan. 1806 and was replaced at Cairnie by two 6 horse bell crank engines [see letter from Grieve in Portfolio 5/760]. |
