364. Adam & George Murray, Manchester (N). Apr., May 1805. 8 items. 45 horse power crank engine, with 33 1/3 inch cylinder, 7 foot stroke, parallel motion, [cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod].
Reverse plan of the engine house and boiler foundations, sections of the engine house, cross-section of 3 boilers, longitudinal section of boiler and boiler house (one of the sections shows air vessels for fire extinguishing apparatus); forcing pump, plummer block pillars - reverse drawings; plan of the premises showing mills of 1798, 1801 and 1804 and location of this engine and the 40 horse engine [see Portfolio 5/295], and small section of one of the mills. All the drawings except the last item bear letter codes. Also sketch side view of the engine made Mar. 1829, marked "Mr. G. Murray 45 horse 1805 being the house into which his new 80 horse engine is to be placed."
