377. Samuel Bridge, Manchester (HH). Mar.-May 1803, Feb., Mar. 1806. 12 items. 36 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 30¾ inch cylinder, 6 foot stroke, parallel motion, [cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod]. Also 60 horse engine that was never erected (coded K?), 1803.
60 horse engine: Coloured original longitudinal section of the engine house and cross-section of 3 boilers, plan of the engine house and boilers; pillars and plates, plummer block - reverse drawings; fly wheel - original and reverse drawings (the original is marked K 62); rough sketch plan of the engine and boiler houses by John Southern, 23 Mar. 1803; letter from Samuel Bridge dated Manchester, 26 Mar. 1803, with sketch plan of the premises. All the drawings except the last 2 bear letter codes.
