For Benjamin & Charles Morley. Cotton mill, Nottingham. The engine may have also been applied to the Morleys' earthenware manufactory, as it was more powerful than they needed for the cotton mill. Charles Morley looked to sell the engine in Aug. 1798. According to the Catalogue of Old Engines it was purchased by Wood & Hodgkinson in 1799.

[Note that the coloured original drawing of the working gear was purchased by the Public Libraries Committee in 1930. It was numbered as part of the miscellaneous portfolio 1347 and placed in the Steam Boat Box due to its size.]
