For John Brockliss. Often spelt "Brockless". Sulgrave Flour Mill, near Banbury, Oxfordshire. Cobb Pain & Judd purchased the engine from Brockliss in 1797 for their paper mill. They sold the engine in Oct. 1798 to William Clark of Lambeth who planned to erect it for Randall & Co., starch makers in Lambeth. This transaction was disapproved of by Boulton & Watt as it lead to uncertainty over premium payments. The engine eventually went to Hodgson & Co. of Battersea.
