417. Meux Reid & Co., London (II). Jul., Aug. 1809. 3 items. 32 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 29 inch cylinder, 6 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod.
Reverse plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses and boiler; "Plan of Messrs. Meux Reid & Co.'s engine house & situation of the new one". All the drawings except the last item bear letter codes.

For Meux Reid & Co. Brewery, Liqour Pond St., London. This engine was originally allocated to the Stone Pipe Co., but was transferred to Meux Reid & Co. in Jul. 1809. By 1844 the firm was A. Reid & Co., and by 1869 W. Reid & Co. For their second engine see Portfolio 5/439, and for pump work purchased in 1844 see Portfolio 5/631.
